Realty Services Overview

GSA provides workspace and related services for over 100 federal client agencies serving more than one million workers through the GSA's Public Buildings Service. Whenever possible, client agencies are located in existing government-owned space. If suitable space in the government inventory is not available, GSA acquires leased space in privately owned buildings.

GSA also provides related real estate services including the operation and maintenance of buildings and outleasing programs. Real estate services provided to clients appear in federal agencies’ monthly electronic rent bills. GSA has simplified these bills so agencies have a clearer understanding of the costs they are charged for their workspace and services.
