Property Codes for History ItemsProperty Codes provide a relationship between the Federal Supply Class and the description of surplus personal property. The State Agencies for Surplus Property are requested to provide the Property Code to GSA at the time of screening the property. State Agencies for Surplus Property (SASP) are advised that there may not be a GSA representative at each donation screening and the Personal Property Management Office (PPMO) will conduct the property allocations. The SASPs need to annotate each History Item with the appropriate Property Code when the request is faxed to the PPMO. If GSA does not receive the Property Code from the SASPs at the screening, GSA will select the Property Code. This is not the preferred method as it can lead to errors that would directly affect each SASP. Therefore, please see the list below of stock classes and codes to annotate the freeze requests sent to the PPMO for each screening.
