To obtain a work associated with a CMER program,
refer to the appropriate contact on the CMER
Contacts Page.
In addition to producing its own publications, reports, and abstracts,
the NEFSC also sponsors the production of such works through cooperative
marine education and research (CMER) programs with academic institutions.
Each CMER program provides the faculty and graduate students of the
member academic institution with research funding and with access
to
the NEFSC's research expertise, capabilities, and databases. In turn,
each CMER program provides the NEFSC with research support similar
to
that provided by contract and grant awardees. So far, there are four
CMER programs: NOAA/University of Massachusetts (UMass) which began
in 1989, NOAA/University of Rhode Island (URI) which also began in
1989, NOAA/Rutgers the State University of New Jersey (Rutgers) which
began
in 1993, and NOAA/Virginia (Hampton University and the Virginia Institute
of Marine Science) which began in 2000. Theses & dissertations
and publications & reports are listed separately for each of
the three CMER programs. [Note that since some of the coauthors
of some of the
CMER works are NEFSC researchers, there is some duplication between
the CMER and NEFSC annual lists of works].
