U.S. — China Strategic Economic Dialogue (SED)

SED was established through an agreement between President Bush and President Hu Jintao in September 2006. The SED provides a framework for ongoing bilateral economic dialogues and future economic relations, examining long-term strategic issues and providing coordination among specialized continuing dialogues. The Secretary of Labor is one of several cabinet level officers who participate in this Dialogue. OIR provides staff support to the Secretary on matters related to the SED.
