Washington, DC --The U.S. General Services Administration today awarded eight indefinite delivery indefinite quantity contracts to obtain environmental sampling and analysis for anthrax (Bacillus anthracis) in Federal Government mailroom facilities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. The contractors awarded these contracts are:

- The IT Group, Cincinnati, Ohio
- Applied Environmental, Inc., Reston, VA
- Law Engineering, Sterling, VA
- BE&K/Terranext, Norcross, GA
- Consolidated Engineering, Arlington, VA
- Masimax Resource Services, Rockville, MD
- Ecology & Environment, Inc., Arlington, VA
- Consolidated Safety Services, Inc., Fairfax, VA

In coordination with the Centers for Disease Control, the General Services Administration will place task orders against the contracts. Environmental sampling and analysis will begin immediately.
