Three FTS Personnel Assume New Management Positions

As part of a continuing effort to meet the day-to-day management challenges of GSA's Federal Telecommunications Service, Commissioner Bob Woods announced three personnel changes effective July 15.

In making the announcement reassigning Dave Cleveland, Carolyn Thomas, and Ron Milam, Mr. Woods said that over the last decade "these three individuals have been a vital part of this program and their unique skills have played a key role in the success that FTS enjoys today."

Dave Cleveland becomes the deputy assistant commissioner for the Office of Service Development. He was director, AT&T Service Oversight Center, Network A in the Office Service Delivery. During the past 25 years, Cleveland has served in telecommunications management positions responsible for design, acquisition, installation, and management of voice, data and video telecommunications systems and networks for local and intercity services.

Carolyn Thomas becomes the director for the Sprint Service Oversight Center, Network B, Office of Service Delivery, from her position of executive assistant in the Office of Service Development. Thomas, who joined GSA in 1979 as a management analyst reviewing various GSA-wide programs and procedures, has 25 years of Government service in a variety of management positions.

Ron Milam vacates the Network B director position to assume the duties of director for the AT&T Service Oversight Center, Network A. Milam has work in the telecommunications industry for 30 years, 21 years with the federal Government. In GSA he has experience in both local service and intercity programs. Milam has been with the FTS2000 program from the beginning and served on the evaluation team prior to the award of the contracts to AT&T and Sprint.
