The General Services Administration's Federal Computer Acquisition Center (FEDCAC) partnering with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has awarded a contract for the Corporate Computing Systems Segment of the Computer Equipment and Resources Technology Acquisition for the NIH (CERTAN) program to FDC Technologies, Inc.

FDC's contract has an estimated total dollar value of $55.3 million over the 8-year contract life. This procurement is the second of four designed to support NIH information technology needs. The first contract, the Information Technology Support Services (ITSS), was awarded in November to SRA International and Science Applications International Corp.

This contract will augment, upgrade, replace, maintain, and support existing IBM MVS and VM mainframe hardware systems and their components to improve functionality, add new features, and enhance system capacity for the National Institutes of Health.

The contract also includes contractor support for the supply, installation, and maintenance of both new and existing Government-owned equipment (GOE) and software; upgrade of hardware and software; documentation; consumable supplies; training; integration; and other services required to support the corporate computing environment within NIH.
