The U.S. General Services Administration's 8th Annual Trail Boss Roundup will be held April 14 - 18 at the Omni Hotel in Norfolk, VA. The Roundup will feature a demonstration of "leading-edge" Web technology and a look into the future; a discussion of how major government IT committees are addressing ITMRA, including NPR initiatives; a panel discussion on issues facing government and industry on January 1, 2000; and information which will impact future business issues.

Limited to graduates of the Trail Boss Program, the Roundup is an opportunity for graduates to update their IT professional competencies and learn about changes which have occurred since the last Roundup. Besides receiving instruction regarding issues which have emerged in all areas of acquisition and implementation, attendees will be able to network and communicate with their peers from other Federal agencies.

Highlights of this year's Roundup include:

Dr. Jon Goodman from the University of Southern California's Annenberg Center for Communication will demonstrate "leading-edge" Web technology and provide a glimpse into the future.

The Chairs, or their representatives, of each of the major IT committees in Government -- the CIO Council, the GITSB, and the ITRB -- will discuss how they are addressing ITMRA, including NPR initiatives.

A cross-Government panel will discuss agencies' experiences regarding issues which face Government and industry on January 1, 2000. The Year 2000 issue is one of the most critical issues to affect information technology worldwide.

Mr. Timothy B. Clark, Editor of Government Executive Magazine, will share information which will impact business issues in the future.

Trail Boss graduates planning to attend the Roundup should call Betty Moore at (202) 501-4298 (Internet: betty.moore@gsa.gov) or Ande Mann at (202) 501-3204 (Internet: ande.mann@gsa.gov). Reservations should be made early.
