GSA Presents Evergreen Award to The Refinishing Touch

Washington, DC - The U.S. General Services Administration presented GSA's Evergreen Award to The Refinishing Touch of Alpharetta, GA. The award recognizes GSA's industry partners who operate in a manner that respects and protects the quality of our environment; businesses that conserve resources throughout all aspects of their operations -- waste prevention, recycling, affirmative procurement, environmental preferability, and model facility.

The Refinishing Touch, under contract to provide on site furniture refinishing services, was recognized for developing a non-toxic stripping processes, water based finishing processes, and recycling wood products. The award was accepted by The Refinishing Touch's President Mario Insenga at GSA's National Furniture Center's Quality Partnership Council meeting, held in conjunction with the GSA Expo, in San Diego, CA earlier this month.

GSA's Federal Supply Service Commissioner Frank P. Pugliese praised the efforts of the National Furniture Center and The Refinishing Touch, as well as the other Evergreen Award winners, for their contributions to helping our environment and supporting the efforts of the Planet GSA program.

The Refinishing Touch is the fifth recipient of the Evergreen Award.. Prior recipients of the award are Milliken, LaGrange, GA; Herman Miller, Zeeland, MI; Collins and Aikman, Dalton, GA; and Haworth, Holland, MI.
