GSA Announces Appointment of Deputy Regional Administrator for its Rocky Mountain Region

WASHINGTON, DC -- The U.S. General Services Administration has announced the appointment of Susan B. Damour to the position of Deputy Regional Administrator of its Rocky Mountain Region effective August 24, 1998.

In making the announcement, GSA Administrator David J. Barram, said that Damour's experience and background will compliment Regional Administrator Polly Baca's dedicated work over the past four years and that Damour will be an asset in carrying forth the region's successful ongoing programs and other future endeavors.

Damour will help Baca oversee the region which includes Colorado, Montana, North and South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming. The Rocky Mountain Region, based in Denver, has a workforce of 413 employees. It manages 220 Government buildings and 371 leased properties that house 27 agencies with 58,100 employees.

In addition to supporting the recent Oklahoma City bombing trials held in Denver, the Rocky Mountain Region also supported the G-8 Summit of world leaders.

"Damour has a background in managing, directing and overseeing a variety of political and not-for-profit operations," Barram said, "and we're enthusiastic about the credentials she brings and about her joining our GSA team in the Rocky Mountain Region."

Damour most recently worked as the district director for Representative David E. Scaggs and has been active in Colorado politics and human rights campaigns during the past decade. She is a graduate of Colorado Woman's College with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and has taken courses in the M.B.A. program at Keller Management School of Business, Graduate Business Studies.
