GSA Names Coleman as Chief Technology Officer

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. General Services Administrator Stephen A. Perry today announced the appointment of Texas native Casey Coleman as the agency's Chief Technology Officer for its Office of Citizen Services.

"Casey Coleman's experience and commitment will prove to be valuable assets to the Bush administration," Mr. Perry said. "I am confident she and M.J. Jameson will work well together to ensure that effective e-government efforts are in place for the public, other federal agencies and the media."

In her new role at GSA, Ms. Coleman will oversee and lead the e-government initiatives within GSA's Office of Citizen Services and Communications. She will be principal advisor to Associate Administrator for Communications M.J. Jameson on e-business and Information Technology strategy, within GSA and in cooperation with other Federal agencies. Ms. Coleman will also focus her efforts on providing citizens, businesses, government and the media with the means to easily access information and information services available from the Federal government.

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Coleman spent several years in consulting and presales at various Internet startup firms, including Kintana Software, Kana Communications, Rational Software and True Software. At Kana Communications she ran a consulting organization and oversaw successful implementations of Kana's customer-relationship software at dozens of Fortune 500 firms. Ms. Coleman has more than 15 years of experience in the IT and high technology sectors, having begun her career doing software and systems engineering at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Dallas. She also served for a year as a Congressional Legislative Fellow in 1994.

Ms. Coleman is the daughter of Jake and Polly Coleman of Ropesville, Texas. Her brother, Jason Coleman, also resides in Ropesville with his wife, Kristi. Ms. Coleman's sister, Tracy Boeker, resides in Big Spring, Texas.

Ms. Coleman attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. She later attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a master's degree in business administration.
