WASHINGTON, DC - Mary Joy (M.J.) Jameson, Associate Administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration's Office of Citizen Services and Communications (OCSC), today named Casey Coleman as Deputy Associate Administrator for the Citizen Services Division of OCSC.

"Casey's ability and commitment are important assets to GSA and to the Office of Citizen Services and Communications," Ms. Jameson said. "Her professional and managerial experience will be a tremendous benefit for OCSC as she steps forward in her role as Deputy Associate Administrator."

In her new role at GSA, Ms. Coleman will oversee OCSC's existing citizen service programs, such as the National Contact Center and Consumer Publications Department. As Deputy Associate Administrator for Citizen Services, Ms. Coleman will also oversee GSA's Office of Intergovernmental Solutions, which works to establish partnerships among the federal, state, local and international government communities. Additionally, Ms. Coleman will direct and lead the E-Government initiatives within OCSC, including FirstGov.gov, the official federal Web portal, and USA Services, a one-stop customer service department for the federal government.

Prior to her arrival at GSA, Ms. Coleman spent several years in consulting management and presales roles at various technology firms, including Kana Software, Mercury Interactive and Rational. At Kana Software she ran a consulting organization and oversaw successful implementations of Kana's customer-relationship software at dozens of Fortune 1000 firms. Ms. Coleman has more than 15 years of experience in the IT and high technology sectors, having begun her career doing software and systems engineering at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Dallas. She also served for a year as a Congressional Legislative Fellow in 1994.

"I am very happy and honored to assume this new role. It's a pleasure to be in the company of such fine colleagues and a part of these important initiatives that are helping to further President Bush's Management Agenda. We are making exciting progress in making the federal government more citizen-centered," said Ms. Coleman.

Ms. Coleman attended Texas A&M University in College Station and graduated in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in computer science. She later attended the University of Texas at Arlington and graduated with a master's degree in business administration.
