Pilot Test of Low-Cost Behavior Management System
The primary objective of this research is to provide an independent evaluation of the safety benefits of a low-cost Driving Behavior Management System. A Driving Behavior Management System should be comprised of three key components: (1) in-vehicle video technology, (2) driving performance management software, and (3) driver counseling. Driving Behavior Management Systems integrate these components to reduce the cost of poor driving. This research effort will assess the efficacy of this program and determine the improvements to driving safety (through improved driver performance) in commercial vehicle operations.
