Property Disposal

Federal agencies can count on GSA to support their needs to properly dispose of surplus or excess:
     • personal property (including computers, furniture, supplies and furnishings), and
     • real property assets (including vacant space, buildings, land, lighthouses, warehouses, and air rights).

Personal and Technology Property Disposal Agencies with personal property that is no longer needed - including excess technology equipment and other personal property - can count on GSA for their mandated utilization and donation screening needs. GSA will tailor personal property services to meet agencies' needs. See Federal Agencies: Things to know for specific details. Agencies can also contact the Rickey Parker, a Personal Property Management representative, using the contact information on the upper right.

Agencies looking for smart disposal solutions can take advantage of GSA's Personal Property Center (PPC). Located just outside Washington, DC, in Springfield, Virginia, it acts as a repository for deliveries of unneeded property from federal agencies. See the services provided by GSA and the sales services rates.

Building and Real Property Disposal Federal agencies must declare and dispose of federal real estate in accordance with federal laws. Agencies can contact the Property Disposal Division (NCR PBS), or view information including GSA's federal real property asset sales and auctions.

Auctions

Looking for auctions, or government property for sale? GovSales.gov is the comprehensive website representing all of GSA's real, personal, excess, surplus, vehicle and everything else that is currently for sale. Vehicle Auction sales that are held live, not online, in various locations can be found at GSA Auto Auctions.

State organizations, libraries, non-profit organizations and educational institutions can receive excess government property through programs such as Computers for Learning Program. Questions should be directed to the Personal Property Management Division, at the phone number provided on the upper right side of this page.

Recycling

GSA also provides a comprehensive Recycling program for agencies located in the greater metropolitan area of Washington, DC.
