What is “StormReady”?
StormReady is a voluntary program developed by the National Weather Service to help communities implement procedures to reduce the potential for disastrous, weather-related events. It helps communities attain a new level of preparedness and encourages communities to take a proactive approach to improve local hazardous weather operations plans, communication, and public awareness.

May 1, 2009: Muleshoe and Bailey County have been recognized as StormReady (Story coming soon).
January 16, 2008: Texas Tech University and the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center received their StormReady certificate. Click on the map below for more details.
