Public Health Education Department
Counsels patients one-on-one about Tobacco Cessation and recommends nicotine patches to help them quit gradually.
Works with other agencies to bring training to hospital staff and offer Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Serves as liaison between patients and hospital staff when a patient files a complaint. Conducts fact-finding investigations to respond to patients with findings. Maintains a record of patient complaints on Excel. Recommends solutions to complaints.
Develops and presents information on prevention of health issues at workshops, training sessions, and conferences.
Conducts Walking contests/programs for patients and hospital staff.
Works with a variety of agencies to bring the American Indian Elders Conference to Oklahoma . Has served as Chair for this conference since 2003.
Serves on two HIV/AIDS Coalitions: Oklahoma Native Nations United Against AIDS located in Anadarko and Oklahoma Native American AIDS Coalition located in Oklahoma City.
Gives presentations and sets up information booths at various events in relations HIV/AIDS.
