For Teachers
Groups coming to Jewel Cave for educational purposes can request a fee waiver for the Scenic Tour. In order for the fee waiver to be approved, you must be from an accredited institution and the cave tour must be a part of your class curriculum. For more information call (605) 673-8300, or contact us by email. 
 
The National Park Service also offers a free on-line training course that teaches all about the National Park Service.  The course was specifically designed for students, educators and professionals.  Each of the three modules takes about 30-40 minutes to complete and can be found at http://www.parktraining.org/

Did You Know?
When the Jasper Fire of 2000 threatened the Jewel Cave Visitor Center, computers and important documents at Jewel Cave National Monument were placed in the cave for protection.
