Dan Yturriondobeitia National Fire Equipment Production Manager (208)387-54453/23/09International DPF RegenerationThe Equipment Development Unit has discovered that all of the vehicles listed in this document are incapable of performing a manual (forced) regeneration due to a programming issue within the CPU. The vehicle must be taken to an authorized dealer to have the CPU "flashed" to allow the use of the manual regeneration switch. The process will take about an hour on average to perform and should be covered under warranty.

3/09Polaris UTV 6X6 Modification
There have been some instances where Polaris 6X6 Rangers equipped with Electronic Fuel Injection systems have caught fire due to tank venting location when used in close proximity to open ignition sources, such as RX fire or fire suppression use.
Polaris Industries has arrived at a solution to this issue and the PowerPoint Presentation explains the correction.

International 7400 Transfer Case Upgrade

There has been a increase in severe service all-wheel drive vehicles traveling long distances at highway speeds. As a result of this application Arvin Meritor, the transfer case manufacturer, and International Truck have added improvements to reduce the lubricant temperature, thus providing longer transfer case life when operated at high road speed. Starting with truck production in December 2005 the transfer case system has been improved and an external cooler has been added to accommodate this application change. International Tuck Company is offering transfer case upgrade kits at a reduced price through March 31, 2009.

Installation of these kits will provide lower lubricant operating temperature during extended high speed operation, which will increase the life of the transfer case. These kits can be ordered through your local International Truck Dealer. To order the appropriate kit please follow the instructions on the attachment. Kits required will vary on different vintage of trucks. The cost for the oil cooler kit is $331.09 and the pump kit is $788.05 plus installation. Those trucks requiring both kits with installation will cost approximately $1,993.14.

The Working Capitol Fund (WCF) will pay for the upgrades. Before any work can start, your Field Office Fleet Manager must create a Maintenance Request and then generate a Work Order in FBMS.
