Cathleen C. Kronopolus - Acting Chief of Staff

Cathleen C. Kronopolus was named to the position effective January 16, 2009.

In her role as GSA’s Acting Chief of Staff, Kronopolus oversees the Office of the Administrator, ensure effective and efficient staffing of agency programs and projects, guide the agency’s continuity of operations planning and emergency response efforts, and maintain liaison and facilitate coordination with GSA regions.

Prior to this appointment, Kronopolus served as Assistant Commissioner for the Office of Real Property Asset Management in GSA’s Public Buildings Service, responsible for real estate portfolio policy, capital planning, asset management, performance improvement, and measurement of a nationwide portfolio of more than 354 million square feet of space. The portfolio generates more than $7 billion in annual revenue.
 
Kronopolus has 20 years of public service, with 12 years of experience with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and eight years of experience with GSA. At EPA, she served in a variety of program management functions in the Office of Prevention, Pesticides, and Toxic Substances. At GSA, she has served in the New England Region as an executive assistant to the Regional Administrator, in the Southeast Sunbelt Region as the Portfolio Director for the eight Southeastern states, and as PBS Director of the Policy and Analysis Division.

Kronopolus is a graduate of Farleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey and has a Master’s of Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She is a member or affiliated with National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, Executive Women in Government, and CoreNet Global.
