Stanley F. Kaczmarczyk was named Acting Associate Administrator for the U.S. General Services Administration’s Office of Governmentwide Policy (OGP) effective January 20, 2009.

As Acting Administrator for OGP, Kaczmarczyk directs an office that develops and evaluates policies for management of the federal government’s internal operations. This covers the acquisition, management and disposal of products and services, internal management processes such as travel, and the use of information technology and electronic commerce. In addition, OGP has a policy-making role for information technology and accessibility, electronic government, smart cards, and other emerging technologies, real estate, personal property, and government travel and transportation.

Kaczmarczyk began his GSA career with the Public Buildings Service in 1991.  He joined OGP in 1997 and in 2004, was appointed to the Senior Executive Service as deputy associate administrator within OGP’s Office of Real Property Management.  In that role, Kaczmarczyk was a key official in coordinating GSA’s governmentwide responsibilities for real property asset management, including the revitalization and management of the federal real property inventory system.

In May 2006, Kaczmarczyk became the deputy senior leader for OGP.  In that capacity, he guided OGP in its policymaking authority over personal and real property, travel and transportation, information technology (IT), fleet management, regulatory information, and the use of federal advisory committees.  Additionally, he provided leadership for the rightsizing of the federal government’s real property portfolio as a member of the steering committee for the Federal Real Property Council.

In the IT arena, Kaczmarczyk provided leadership for several high-profile OGP initiatives, including the financial management line of business, the information technology line of business, and compliance with Section 508 IT accessibility laws. 

Additionally, Mr. Kaczmarczyk has served on the board of directors of Corenet Global as the special government adviser since 2005, has been a member of BOMA’s National Advisory Council since 2004, received GSA’s Meritorious Service Award in September 1998, and has authored numerous publications on innovative and alternative workplace strategies.
