Department of Labor FY 2007 Buy American Act Report

Dear Mr. President:

In accordance with Section 8306 of Public Law 110-25, the U. S. Troop Readiness, Veterans' Care, Katrina Recovery, and Iraq Accountability Appropriations Act of 2007, the Department of Labor (DOL) submits FY2007 Buy American Act Report. The Act requires that Federal agencies report the amount of acquisitions made by the agency from entities that manufacture the articles, materials, or supplies outside of the United States in that fiscal year. We apologize for the delay in submitting this report.

In compliance with the requirement stated above, the Department provides the following information for FY 2007:

  1. Provide the dollar value of any articles, materials, or supplies purchased that were manufactured outside of the United States:

    Response: The Department of Labor made no purchases of any articles, materials, or supplies manufactured outside of the United States within the meaning of the Buy American Act.

  2. Provide an itemized list of all waivers granted with respect to such articles, materials, or supplies under the Buy American Act (41 U.S.C. 10a et seq.);

    Response: Not applicable; waivers were neither necessary nor granted to the Department of Labor during FY 2007.

  3. Provide a summary of the total procurement funds spent on goods manufactured in the United States versus funds spent on goods manufactured outside of the United States.

    Response: The Department of Labor spent $13,029,473.58 on goods manufactured in the United States.
