Procedure
for Creating the Online Version of the IH Manual
The content of the Indian
Health Manual is currently being converted to an online format. Converted
documents will be included as they are completed. The entire index will
be listed even for those documents not yet converted. All documents listed
in the index that are still in use will be converted and displayed online.
Please return to these pages often to find newly added, online versions
of documents in the IH Manual. |
Instructions for Using Acrobat Reader to View PDF Files
- The link to "DOWNLOAD ACROBAT READER" goes to the IHS download page
where you may acquire the software necessary to view the online
PDF files. The software is free.
- To assist you in estimating the length of time a document will take
to display in the Reader, the file size and the number of pages for
each Chapter and Circular is noted in red in the Chapter and Circular
Index pages.
- Once you are viewing a PDF document, you may right click and choose
the "Go Back" option to return to the last page in the document you
visited. If you have an older version of the Acrobat Reader, you may
wish to download a newer version for this functionality.
- The Table of Contents in each PDF document has topics you can link
to. Move your cursor over a topic you wish to view. The cursor icon
is transformed into a hand. Link on the topic to view it. Right-click
on the mouse and choose the "Go Back" option to return to the Table
of Contents.
- From the arrow buttons in the Reader menu header, choose the front
or back arrow to follow a document's pages sequentially. Choose the
double-back arrow to return to the first page of the document. The double-front
arrow functions to display the last page of the document.
- For users unable to visually access PDF files, visit the site http://access.adobe.com
to have the documents converted to a format that speech readers can
use.
