Partner Profile The Spirit Lake Community School is a K-12 school serving approximately 1,300 students. The school district generates a majority of its power from an onsite wind turbine and its goal is to eventually provide 100 percent of its electricity with wind. School officials feel that the use of onsite wind power is an educational, environmental and economic advantage for the district. In addition, the high school facility converted to geothermal heating and cooling, which together with the school district's onsite wind turbine are used as a tool for education and hands on experience. |
