USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program

 GULF OF MEXICO

  • GLORIA mapping program - Includes a composite mosaic of the 16 GLORIA sidescan sonar mosaics collected and processed by the USGS from 1982 - 1985, bathymetry contours and GLORIA interpretation. Additional backscatter and sidescan sonar mosaics completed from various USGS/CMGP Gulf of Mexico seafloor mapping surveys have also been integrated into the mapserver. This map site also include a number of additional data layers such as usSEABED surficial sediment data and Gas Hydrates assessments that cover the extent of the Gulf of Mexico.
