New England Strategic Planning Retreat on Energy Efficiency

Meetings

April 27, 2007
Willimantic, CT

More than 60 leading organizations have joined together to develop the National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency with a goal to achieve all cost-effective energy efficiency by the year 2025.

The Action Plan recommendations serve to spur discussions and action among all key stakeholders, leading to increased investment in energy efficiency. As noted in the Action Plan Report, these recommendations can be pursued through a variety of options and may vary by region.

Regional meetings were held in 2007 to bring together key stakeholders in a region to further explore the specifics (i.e., "nuts and bolts") of the recommendations and options. Key outcomes of these meetings are lessons learned from those that are successfully implementing the recommendations, and stakeholder-identified actions for moving the region forward to advance energy efficiency. These meetings also helped additional organizations explore options for making a commitment under the Action Plan.

Stakeholders were welcome to participate in multiple Regional Meetings and where possible, the Regional Implementation Meetings were coincident with the NARUC Affiliate Annual Conferences.
