Boys and Girls Club Educational Partnership
The staff at Jimmy Carter NHS will give 8 educational programs to as many as 300 students whom might not ordinarily learn about or visit the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Farm or Historic Site, understand the national significance of their local site or the importance of protecting national treasures. The partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America will allow the park to reach children normally unreachable due to transportation inadequacies or programming limitations.

Presidents' Day Celebration 
The Jimmy Carter National Historic Site hosted its first Presidents’ Day Celebration with former President Jimmy Carter on Presidents’ Day. The staff was honored to have both President and Mrs. Carter in attendance at the Plains High School Museum, their alma mater, on this special occasion.

Twenty years ago the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site and Preservation District was established by Congress to benefit, inspire and educate the people of the United States through interpreting the life of our 39th President, Jimmy Carter.

Kids Parade and Independence Day Celebration
To help in the celebration of the United States of America's 231st Birthday, the staff at the Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, along with the Plains Historical Preservation Trust, sponsored a parade and Independence Day Celebration.

Gary Ingram named Superintendent of Jimmy Carter National Historic Site
The Southeast Region of the National Park Service has named Gary Ingram as the new superintendent for Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in Plains, GA.
