Office of the Chief Information Officer

Summary

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (CIO) develops and manages applications and systems in support of the needs of the FAS business lines and staff offices in accordance with policy established by the GSA Chief Information Officer.

The FAS CIO organization will provide tremendous value to the constituent groups who rely upon our business applications and electronic tools. These constituents include internal GSA employees, agency customers, and industry partners.

This Office is already leveraging the assets of the legacy FTS CIO and FSS CIO offices across both organizations. For example, FTS has a well-developed Business Objects reporting and analysis program which is being used for legacy FSS programs, such as SmartPay. The results are better adherence to common standards, lower expenses from re-use of assets, and greater expertise, hence better support to users.

Key applications that the CIO supports: GSAAdvantage!®, e-Buy, eOffer/eMod, Transportation Management Services Solution, FSS-19, GSA Auctions®, ITSS/ITOMS/COBD and CMS. This office also supports strategic FAS programs such as Networx, HSPD-12, and Alliant with various services such as HelpDesk, website content, and IT security.
