In 2009, green purchasing training will again be offered at Symposium EAST for all government personnel. You will NOT NEED to sign up for green purchasing training in advance of attending the conference this year.

Course Information

This year, we are offering green purchasing refresher training plus three concurrent sessions.  The refresher training will be a one-hour course that provides the basics of the components of the Federal green purchasing program, an update on new product designations and other changes over the past year, and practical exercises.  Training certificates will be presented at the end of this session. Check with your agency whether it will count towards acquisition training hours.

The three concurrent sessions, providing a mix of presentations on biobased products, energy efficient products, products available from AbilityOne providers, and tools, are Introduction to Biobased, which will feature staff from Senator Harkin's office discussing why buying biobased products is important, Buy Green – Tools, Resources, and Best Practices, and Biobased Cleaning Products.
