Facing and Embracing the New Reality

Dave Bennet is co-founder of the Mountain Quest Institute. Prior to building MQI, he was co-founder, Chairman of the Board, CEO and Chief Knowledge Officer for Dynamic Systems, Inc, a professional services firm specializing in engineering and organizational development, with offices in Alexandria, Newport, San Diego and Panama City.

Dave’s experience spans service in the military, civil service and private industry. While in the Navy he worked for Admiral Rickover, teaching Naval Officers the theory and operation of nuclear reactors. He also conducted research in underwater acoustics during a tour in the Office of Naval Research and managed an engineering division in the Naval Ships Systems Command. While in the Civil Service, he was Deputy Program Manager and Technical Director for two major ACAT I acquisition programs and led a major reorganization study of the Naval Sea Systems Command.

Dave speaks frequently at knowledge management conferences and has authored many papers on topics such as knowledge management, organizational learning and the Intelligent Complex Adaptive System. He is the author of a comprehensive guide for the application of Integrated Product Teams that includes a 250-page virtual book and a System Dynamics Flight Simulator.

He and his wife have recently published Organizational Survival in the New World: The Intelligent Complex Adaptive System—a new theory of the firm. They are currently working on a forthcoming book that explains how intelligent, complex, adaptive teams can achieve sustainable high performance under conditions of change, uncertainty, complexity and anxiety.
