Dave
Bennet is co-founder of the Mountain Quest Institute. Prior to building MQI, he
was co-founder, Chairman of the Board, CEO and Chief Knowledge Officer for
Dynamic Systems, Inc, a professional services firm specializing in engineering
and organizational development, with offices in Alexandria, Newport, San Diego
and Panama City.
Daves experience spans service in the military, civil service
and private industry. While in the Navy he worked for Admiral Rickover,
teaching Naval Officers the theory and operation of nuclear reactors. He also
conducted research in underwater acoustics during a tour in the Office of Naval
Research and managed an engineering division in the Naval Ships Systems
Command. While in the Civil Service, he was Deputy Program Manager and
Technical Director for two major ACAT I acquisition programs and led a major
reorganization study of the Naval Sea Systems Command.
Dave speaks frequently at knowledge management conferences and has
authored many papers on topics such as knowledge management, organizational
learning and the Intelligent Complex Adaptive System. He is the author of a
comprehensive guide for the application of Integrated Product Teams that
includes a 250-page virtual book and a System Dynamics Flight Simulator.
He and his wife have recently published Organizational Survival in
the New World: The Intelligent Complex Adaptive Systema new theory
of the firm. They are currently working on a forthcoming book that explains how
intelligent, complex, adaptive teams can achieve sustainable high performance
under conditions of change, uncertainty, complexity and anxiety.
Dave is a Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Pi Sigma and Summa Cum Laude graduate
of the University of Texas, holding degrees in Mathematics, Physics, Nuclear
Physics and Liberal Arts.
