General Building Information

Hours of Operation: weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can enter through the north entrance on the Walnut Street side of the building, and are required to follow the security screening process.

Parking: Available at a city parking ramp behind the building, or at metered on-street parking spaces. Monthly parking is also available at various locations nearby.

Building Amenities

Walnut Café

The Walnut Café is located on the 6th floor of the federal building. Hours of operation are Monday -- Friday, 6 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. for breakfast and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch. The Café remains open until 3 p.m.

Snack Bar

The Snack Bar is located on the 1st floor in the northeast corner. Hours of operation are from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday – Friday. The Snack Bar is primarily a vending operation with various pop machines, candy/snack machines and change machines. The Snack Bar also sells newspapers and returns deposits on pop cans. The Iowa Commission for the Blind is responsible for both the 1st floor and 6th floor vending services.

Federal Employees Credit Union

The Federal Employees Credit Union is located on the 1st floor, Room 132 and the hours of operation are between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday – Friday. The Credit Union is open to all federal employees and offers a full line of services.

USDA Credit Union

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Credit Union is located on the 9th floor, Room 927, with the hours of operation 7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday. This credit union is open to USDA employees and offers a full line of services.
