The Everett McKinley Dirksen U.S. Courthouse in downtown Chicago, Illinois, was designed by architect Mies van der Rohe and built in 1964. The 30-story glass and steel high-rise is home to the U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts, Court of Appeals, and many other tenants. The building also houses a federal child care center for infants between six-weeks and 15-months old.

The latest GSA/Gallup Customer Satisfaction Survey, administered in spring 2008, indicated that 80% of the tenants are "very satisfied" with the Dirksen Service Center and the Everett M. Dirksen U.S. Courthouse.

Recent upgrades include a cafeteria modernization, curtain wall repairs, protective solutions, and upgrades to mechanical systems.
