Position Summary: Provide primary health care services consistent with the philosophy of Pit River Health Service.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Renders diagnostic treatment, consultation, referral and emergency and other services to persons served, maintaining a productivity rate of four pph participate in planning, directing, and coordination of medical services in the service delivery area, in compliance with PRHS goals and objectives participate in monthly Medical Staff, Medical Quality Assurance and Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee meetings assist with planning, developing, review, update, and approval of medical protocols, in conjunction with medical and administrative staff responsible for continuity of patient care, referrals for specialty care, patient placement, and utilizing community resources provide consultation on annual budget for medical equipment, supplies, and staffing provide assistance to maintain, review, and update medical policies and procedures annually act as liaison for Pit River Health Service and medical community in service delivery area coordinate with other medical staff the planning, developing, and implementation medical quality assurance program maintain admitting and surgery privileges at the local hospital [Mayers Memorial Hospital] provide inpatient care for Pit River Health Service patients in Mayers Memorial Hospital assist and prepare for the program review by the Indian Health Service and State Indian Health Program, correct any findings of noncompliance ensure the quality of medical services to all clients participate in CHS Committee meetings maintain all required licensing, certification in good standing complete all necessary paper work and other assignments in a timely manner maintain a written agreement with the Family Nurse Practitioner[s] regarding standardized procedures of care provide telephone consultation for Family Nurse Practitioner[s] when a Medical Director is not present in the clinic provide in-service education for appropriate medical staff.
Qualifications: Graduated from an accredited medical school licensed to practice in the State of California, preferably Board Certified in Family Practice cultivate a knowledge and understanding of Indian culture and traditions and the specific community served in the area preference will be given to Native Americans in accordance with P.L. 93-638 be willing to submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening tests possess a current CPR card.
