Notes:
Position Summary: An active member of an interdisciplinary team providing prevention, interventions, and mental health treatment services to clients. Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the behavioral health social service of patient treatment component. Provide individual, group and family counseling. Team with other providers to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate behavioral health services develop and utilize individual safety and risk protocol establish mental health and suicidal protocols Use DSM IV in classifying all clients in treatment. Use PCC forms on all clients being reported to Indian Health Service provide an assessment and individual treatment plan for each client in treatment inform, refer, and advocate for clients with the social service system conduct individual, family and group therapy maintain an individual case load of at least 40 clients and provide counseling services for an average of 15 hours per week refer clients to appropriate support and treatment agencies attend appropriate in-service and Indian Health Service training/meeting provide supervision, direction, and evaluation of activities for substance Abuse/family Service Unit conduct weekly conferences with multi-disciplinary team and with Medical and Outreach when scheduled develop and conduct mental health consumer surveys at least two times per year participate in monthly staff and department head meetings submit monthly/quarterly report to Board of Directors with monthly updates to the Health Administrator maintain client confidentiality pursuant to personnel policies and procedures develop, maintain and review annually department policies and procedures, submit to Health Administrator and Board for approval grant writing in coordination with PRHS Departments to enhance service capabilities do case management refer clients to appropriate support and treatment agencies.
Qualification: Masters level degree from an accredited college or university sensitive to Indian culture and tradition experience with low income and culturally diverse people communicate effectively with people of varied professional backgrounds posses a current CPR card must be willing to submit to and pass pre-employment drug screening License required: LCSW or Clinical Psychologist. Preference will be given to Native Americans in accordance with PL 93-638.
