GSA's Heartland Region Historic Preservation Office is committed to assisting customers with all aspects of historic preservation. The office offers a wide range of services, including:

  • Advice on renovations;
  • Implementation of compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act; and
  • Technical architectural expertise relating to all aspects of building renovation and preservation -- including advice and assistance on all preservation matters, technical or controversial.

Dedicated to preserving our historic buildings, the Heartland Region provides technical and strategic expertise to promote the viability, reuse and care of historic properties. The National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 calls for federal agencies to identify, conserve and facilitate initiatives that foster conservation and the continued use of historic buildings in the public and private sector. GSA's Heartland Region Historic Preservation Office is most effective when involved in all stages of preservation or renovation projects.
