Former Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn becomes 41st Governor of the State of Illinois

SPRINGFIELD  – January 29, 2009. Former Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn has become the 41st Governor of the State of Illinois, having taken the Oath of Office at 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009.  The Oath of Office was administered by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Anne Burke in a brief ceremony in the Chamber of the Illinois House of Representatives.

Valentines for Vets!

CHICAGO - January 23, 2009.  Lt. Governor Quinn joined with Chicagoland schoolchildren to encourage children and adults across Illinois to create handmade valentines for servicemembers overseas and hospitalized veterans.

Lt. Gov. Honors Fallen Hero, Staff Sgt Jason Vasquez

CHICAGO – On Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the Logandale Middle School Gymnasium, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn unveiled a memorial plaque in honor of local fallen hero Staff Sgt Jason Vasquez, a Logandale Middle School athlete and graduate.
