National Contact Center

The Office of Citizen Services’ Federal Citizen Information Center (FCIC) operates the National Contact Center (NCC) that answers questions in English and Spanish about Federal agencies, programs, and services. The public can call tollfree -- 1 (800) FED INFO (1-800-333-4636) -- Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. At all other times, automated messages are available. Also, the public can also email their questions through a handy web form found on USA.gov or chat live with a federal information specialist. The trained NCC staff either directly answers questions about all aspects of the federal government or provides citizens with the most appropriate contact.

The Office of Citizen Services can also provide procurement assistance to agencies through USA Contact, a multiple award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract. This saves agencies time and money when purchasing a wide variety of contract center services.

Misdirects Program

The Office of Citizen Services encourages agencies to redirect phone and email inquiries to the NCC whenever those inquiries are not related to the agency’s mission.
