ADATSA
Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Treatment and Support Act

What it is:

A program to assist persons who are chemically dependent and who desire treatment.

Who is eligible:

To be eligible for ADATSA services you must:

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Be a Washington State resident
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible alien
  • Meet income and resource requirements
  • Be assessed by a department-designated chemical dependency center as having an alcohol or drug dependency

What it covers:

Once you are approved for ADATSA services, you may be eligible for up to six months of treatment in a twenty-four month period. Covered treatment includes:

  • Intensive inpatient treatment
  • Long-term care residential treatment
  • Recovery house treatment
  • Outpatient treatment

Income and resource requirements:

There is a $1,000 resource limit requirement for the ADATSA program. Certain items, such as the home you live in or vehicle equity up to $5,000, are not counted. Your income is also considered.

You can apply for ADATSA services at your local Community Services Office or apply online using our Online Application for Services.
