Fryzel Meets with Defense Credit Union Council President/CEO Arty Arteaga

October 1, 2008, Alexandria, Va. – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Michael E. Fryzel welcomed Defense Credit Union Council’s President/CEO Arty Arteaga to NCUA headquarters yesterday.
“Military credit unions have been one of the traditional cornerstones of the industry, from the earliest days to the present.  The dedication to providing the highest-quality financial services to the military community is impressive, and the Defense Council of Credit Union is an exceptionally important voice in making certain that the defense credit union story is told” commented Chairman Fryzel.

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of nearly 89 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions.
