Vice Chairman Hood Videos Address To Winston Salem Credit Union

October 1, 2008, Alexandria, Va. – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Vice Chairman Rodney E. Hood video recorded his addresses to the NW Chapter of Credit Unions meeting yesterday in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Vice Chairman Hood discussed the strength of the credit union share insurance fund and praised credit unions for their smart lending decisions. He encouraged them to keep doing great things for their member-owners, especially now when the economy is threatened by a financial crisis.

“Credit unions are not part of the market debacle,” Vice Chairman Hood told the audience. “I encourage you to be part of the solution.”

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates, charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), insuring the deposits of nearly 89 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions.
