Communication Skills A set of video trainings designed to improve communication skills to work more effectively with patients and co-workers. Continuing Education credits are available. Accredited Sponsors: IHS Clinical Support Center and IHS Nutrition and Dietetics Training Program. Building Relationships with Clients – Ever feel like you cannot connect with a client? Watch and learn how a health care provider was able to improve her counseling and communication skills in order to connect with her client. Watch a demonstration and even try it out yourself! Handling Workplace Conflicts – Ever had a conflict with a co-worker? Watch as a conflict arises and is settled between a program director and a field supervisor. Learn how to apply a terrific (TRFC) acronym towards resolving workplace conflicts. Making Your Meetings Work – Need to plan a meeting? Or ever been bored during a meeting? This training will show you ideas for making your small, large, or even staff meetings more interesting and effective. Learn about and watch numerous examples to yield high energy from your peers and/or staff. Problem Solving Among Co-Workers – Ever had to orient a new employee when you didn’t have time? Watch how problem solving skills are implemented to help build a better relationship between two employees. Learn basic counseling skills that can be used in solving problems and helping to build a better team. Note: Before you begin any of the web-based trainings, you can review the IHS Privacy Policy. Requirements: You must have a computer with internet access and a browser such as Internet Explorer. You must also have Flash 8 Player installed on your computer to watch the videos.
