State-of-the-Art Armor Market Research

Since the advent of the Global War on Terror, there has been an emphasis on finding lighter, thinner, more capable, and less expensive armor systems. A decisive increase in demand has led to a rapidly expanding market for both vehicle and body armors. An expansion in the number of firms promoting armor systems has made it difficult for both Government users and industry system integrators to determine what armor materials are available and what armor manufacturers are able to provide. Battelle Memorial Institute conducted a market study of armor technologies in the United Statesto define the current state of technology and predict of trends for the near future.
