Family Adventure Quest

Looking for a challenge? Consider the 2009 Kentucky State Park Family Adventure Quest you complete at your own pace.

This year’s challenges will take you and your team across the state to Kentucky state parks and historic sites, as well as the Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site to explore and learn about our sixteenth President’s ties to Kentucky.

While some challenges will simply require seeking answers through park visits or web research, many will require use of a digital camera to show your team along your journey. In order to be eligible for prizes upon completion, Quest photos will need to be submitted in electronic format on CD.

Show us your Unbridled Spirit as your family explores our unique and breathtaking state to earn park gift certificates: 25 correct = $85 or 20 correct for $50!

Download/print registration form here, or call 1-800-255-PARK for more information and to request a brochure/register by mail.

Registration fee of $15 (2-6 people/team) gets you:
• Information packet containing 25 challenges to complete
• Commemorative day pack
• $5 gift certificate to Lincoln Birthplace N.H.S

Only those correctly completing the challenges are eligible for prizes.
Photos submitted as part of this challenge become the property of KY State Parks.
Contest ends December 1, 2009.

We truly enjoyed this Quest! I believe we visited twelve state parks this year. We learned alot and created many great memories. Thank you for creating this program. Please keep us informed of any future opportunities." --Team Havens '08 of Louisville, KY

"Wow – what a great park system we have in our Commonwealth. My wife & I have been visiting a lot of them over the past couple years. We did the Family Adventure Quest with my mom and dad last year, and did our own this year. We had great fun! Just wanted to thank you guys for the good work you are doing for our parks and our people. We have a state park system that is the envy of the nation.” --The Deans '07 of Louisville, KY

“I’ve had tons of fun and adventure completing the Family Adventure Quest. It gave me the opportunity to visit new parks such as General Butler, Pennyrile, Rough River Dam, Buckhorn Lake, and Carr Creek. What a great ‘excuse’ to re-visit other parks such as Carter Caves, Natural Bridge, and Cumberland Falls too. Actually, this coming weekend (Thanksgiving) I am going to Jenny Wiley for 2 nights and them down to Breaks Interstate for two nights. You can be sure I’ll be back in 2008!” --The Schehers '07 of Harrison, OH
