OALJ Decisions

When searching for full-text of DOL's OALJ Decisions, there are several ways to begin. You can search by Docket, Library Collections, or Full Text. To search by Docket, enter the OALJ Case Number, Claimant/Complainant, Employer/Respondent or Decision Date using the Docket Search boxes on the left side of the OALJ homepage.

The Library Collections box is in the middle of the OALJ homepage. Most of the collections are browsing collections. They contain decisions for ARB (by date or name), BRB decisions for Black Lung and Longshore (both published and unpublished), BCA 1985-present, SCA decisions 1983-1996 and WAB 1964-1996 (until the ARB was established in 1996), selected DBA decisions, published ERISA decisions, Immigration decisions (BALCA, ACM, ARN, LCA, TAE & TLC as well as Job Service Complaint System Appeals), and OFCCP decisions. There is also a Whistleblower Collection that contains decisions for AIR, CAA, CER, ERA, SDW, WPC, PSI, SOX, SWD, STA, and TSC. Another library collection contains decisions for WIA, JTPA and CETA.

The OALJ helpfully provides on its website a list of Acronym Definitions. In addition, you can do a Docket Search from this page as well as link to the Full Text Search page. The Full Text search gives you the option of limiting your search to ARB, BRB, or OALJ and searching a keyword or phrase.

For more information about OALJ, see the past tip that describes and provides links to OALJ Benchbooks and Deskbooks.
