Jurist

Jurist is one of many good legal portals that provides useful compilations of links to on-line comprehensive sources of law. This website was created in the spring of 1996 by Bernard Hibbitts who is a Professor of Law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Some features of Jurist are:

  • Legal News -- includes links to current news at the state, national and world levels. You can also select stories based on "Hot Topics" such as immigration or individual "Newsmakers."
  • Documents -- includes links to Rulings & Orders, Filings, and Testimony & Speeches from the Supreme Court as well as District Courts, the White House and Appellate Courts.
  • Research -- allows you to search for federal and state cases from the Supreme, Appellate and District Courts. You can also search for oral arguments, statutes, codes and regulations at the federal and state level.
