Current electronic access to the Federal Register can be obtained
through
GPO Access, Lexis or Westlaw. GPO Access maintains the
Federal Register from 1994 forward. Lexis and Westlaw have the Federal
Register from July 1, 1980 to present day.
Until recently, there has not been an online source for the Federal
Register prior to 1980. Now, Hein Online's Federal Register Library provides
access to the Federal Register and Federal Register Indexes from 1936 to present. Hein Online also has the Weekly
Compilation of Presidential Documents from 1965 - 2005.
Features are key word searching, browsable annual indexes and CFR lists
of sections affected, or you can select the volume and enter a page number. To
use this resource, you must have the username and password. Just click on
"Federal Register Collection" at
Hein Online's homepage and you will be asked to login.
For information about resources available through Hein Online, see the tip
Hein Online.
DOL employees can also contact the Law Library (202-693-6613) to obtain information about this resource.
