Appellate Court Briefs Online

Information about obtaining free Appellate Court Briefs by Jurisdiction is provided for the Supreme Court, Federal Circuit Courts (7th and 8th only), and selected State Appellate Courts. In the section that deals with free Appellate Court Briefs from Government Agencies, NGO’s and Other Organizations, you will see over 25 listings. Highlights include:

  • American Bar Association Section of Litigation – Commercial & Business Litigation Committee – Brief Bank Subcommittee: Contains briefs, motions, and memos dealing with discovery issues under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Securities and Exchange Commission: Selected briefs in federal appellate courts from 1996 forward.
  • Securities Class Action Clearinghouse: Provides detailed information relating to the prosecution, defense, and settlement of federal class action securities fraud litigation. Contains copies of more than 6000 complaints, briefs, filings, and other litigation-related materials filed in these cases.
  • Trial Lawyers for Public Justice: Large collection of briefs divided into six broad topics: Civil Justice System, Civil Rights & Civil Liberties, Class Action Abuse Prevention Project, Consumer & Victims' Rights, Environmental Enforcement Project, and Mandatory Arbitration Abuse Prevention Project.
