Federal facilities managers can count on GSA to provide first class workplaces while ensuring environmental stewardship through environmentally responsible building design. To learn more about how GSA can work with your agency towards sustainable building design, please research GSA's Sustainable Design Program, or use the contact information on the upper right to contact GSA's green building specialists.

The Northeast & Caribbean Region’s Capital Program includes major new construction projects that incorporate sustainable features. These projects will use the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) (a nongovernment website) Green Building Rating System. It includes several major border stations at the U.S.- Canadian border in upstate New York, a U.S. Courthouse in Buffalo, New York, and the new U.S. Mission to the United Nations in New York City. Past projects, such as the Ted Weiss Federal Building, have also been recognized for energy efficiency and received an Energy Star Certification Award.

Energy Conservation Services are also provided to client agencies within the the Northeast & Caribbean Region.
