Description

This nonprofit organization is dedicated to conquering chronic fatigue and immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS), also known as chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and myalgic encephalomyelitis (M.E.) through its education, public policy and research programs. The Association strives to increase awareness about CFIDS among the general and medical communities and elicit a more dedicated response to the study of this illness from our federal government and public and private scientists. Since 1987, the CFIDS Association of America has invested over $2,000,000 in its peer-reviewed medical research program. The Association provides free information to consumers and maintains a Web site designed for "Young Persons With CFIDS (YPWCs)" at http://www.cfids.org/youth/.
