Two important regulations that form the foundation of FMCSA’s Medical Program have been published in the Federal Register: The final rule to integrate the medical certificate into the driver record (Medical Certification Requirements as Part of the CDL rule), and the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to establish a national registry of certified medical examiners. We encourage you to review the NPRM and comment on this important proposed change to 49 CFR Parts 390 and 391. Comments should be submitted by January 30, 2009.
