Federal employees may be eligible for child care subsidies through the Federal Employee Subsidy Program. The majority of the Great Lakes Region's child care centers have been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which assesses child care centers against rigorous standards for health and safety, staffing, staff qualifications, physical environment, and administration. The NAEYC accreditation holds the highest standards in the nation for early childhood programs.
